As issues of reducing the 'Carbon Footprint' become more important, finding ways to do so without reducing good
communications can seem difficult. However, this need not be the case and in some areas, communications can
even be enhanced.
Listed below are five examples of how you can improve your communications whilst keeping an eye on and
actually reducing travel requirements.

Interactive whiteboards are now a feature of almost every classroom and
increasingly, within corporate board, meeting and training rooms as their value
becomes recognised.
However, the Hitachi Cambridge Board also offers the ability for up to 40 +
boards to be connected in 40 + locations for live, real time interaction.
Conference members can work together and interact on the same documents,
pictures, plans etc. without ever having to leave their own offices.

Video conferencing has been a feature in large corporate companies for a
while, however high purchase costs and high running costs (several ISDN
lines for quality) has meant it has been out of reach of most potential users.
However, as IP based systems and broadband connectivity has improved,
pricing has dropped and quality systems such as the Aethra range are well
within the reach of everyone.
Aethra units offer excellent performance, the ability to mix IP and ISDN, multi-
point conferencing as well as external images (e.g. visualiser) and computer
presentation capability.

Networked Digital Signage means that any number of screens of any size can
have content display controlled from any point nationally or internationally.
Information can be in the form of presentations, pictures, video and more. This
system can be used for instant messaging as well as scheduled changes
meaning a reduced requirement to visit individual sites and a long term saving
in paper signage and information systems.

The Mediasite system allows presentations, training sessions and speeches
to be recorded to on-line libraries (includes video, audio and PC presentation)
and played back at the viewers' convenience.
Live streaming sessions can be set up almost immediately allowing anyone to
connect on-line from any location to watch the speaker.
A superb system for creating training libraries, it can help to reduce travel
between sites to provide training or lectures

meetings are properly scheduled and rooms anf facilities properly booked.

An IP based system with a visible touch panel screen outside each room, it
can be accessed from anywhere internationally.
